Accra’s air quality is currently rated as extremely poor, according to data released by the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet).
The high quantity of dust in the atmosphere is the source of this unfavorable situation, according to a message on what was once known as Twitter (referred to as X).
Thankfully, some encouraging news is approaching. GMet said that the midweek prediction is looking good, pointing to a positive scenario for more moisture, which may then cause the dust levels in Accra to drop.
The organization was upbeat about the expected increase in air quality over this time frame.
People who live or are in the impacted areas are urged to keep up with GMet’s weather updates and to take the appropriate safety measures to reduce their exposure to the hazardous air quality.
The neighborhood may see relief from the projected changes in moisture levels and a favorable alteration in Accra’s air quality.

Air quality in Accra is very unhealthy. Dust concentration in the atmosphere is contributing to this.
The good news is that the midweek looks favorable for moisture influx and subsequent reduction of the dust in Accra. An improvement in the air quality is anticipated. https://t.co/QE1RU8RNFb— Ghana Meteo. Agency (@GhanaMet) February 4, 2024
