Michael Kofi Okyere Baafi, the deputy minister of trade and industry and member of parliament for New Juaben South, has declared that he will not run for office a third time.
As the Parliamentary Candidate for the New Juaben South Constituency, Mr. Okyere Baafi conveyed his sincere gratitude to the delegates, constituency, and regional executives for their confidence in him to lead the party into the December elections.
He promised to work hard to increase the party’s vote total in the constituency and to never let them down.
Following a brief ceremony designating him as the constituency’s parliamentary candidate, Mr. Okyere Baafi said he would not run for reelection and pledged to leave a positive legacy during his second term in office in an interview with Citi News.
“People will witness a lot of physical projects, infrastructure, and recreational projects, as well as more development-oriented projects. They will also be aware that the system has changed, that we are promoting tourism, and that the constituency will see a large influx of traffic. Since this will be my final term as an MP, I want to perform to the highest standard possible. I’ll only commit to two terms, as I previously stated, so this will be my final term.
In order to leave in peace, I must demonstrate to the municipality that I came to serve this constituency and that I did so exceptionally well,” he said.
Regarding the part his constituency will play in the party’s effort to break the eight, Mr. Okyere Baafi said New Juaben South will be crucial.
You know what we’re capable of; we’ll put in a lot of effort to grow in number. People may have their doubts, but I think we can win the votes if we work hard and collaborate with the right people. And that’s precisely what we intend to do—we’re going to give it our all.
You are aware of my supremacy in the field of campaigning. In order for the people in the municipality to support our party and vote to break the eight, I will do everything in my power to win their love and understanding of what we stand for. I can guarantee the entire nation that New Juaben South will play a huge role in breaking the eight.
