Maxwell Konadu, a former assistant coach for Ghana, has submitted an application to lead the Black Stars, according to JoySports.
The head of Nsoatreman FC, who served as the senior national team’s assistant coach from 2012 to 2022, is regarded as one of the nation’s most seasoned managers.
He has more than ten years of experience coaching the four World Cup participants as an interim and assistant coach.
The former Asante Kotoko coach accompanied Kwasi Appiah to the 2013 AFCON in South Africa and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil after being appointed as his assistant in 2012.
After Appiah was fired in September 2014, Maxwell took over as interim manager. Under his direction, the squad qualified for the 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea before Avram Grant was named in December 2014 to take them to the competition.
Up until his resignation in February 2017, the Asante Kotoko player who won the Ghana Premier League in 2012 continued to serve as Grant’s assistant.
Maxwell Konadu remained with the squad from April 2017 until December 2019, when Kwasi Appiah made a comeback to play for them. However, Konadu worked in tandem with Ibrahim Tanko to provide assistance for Appiah.
He left the squad in February 2020 and returned in September 2021, serving as Milovan Rajevac’s assistant after the Serbian was reappointed on September 24, 2021, to replace CK Akonnor.
According to insiders, Maxwell feels he can successfully transition into the head coach position because of his familiarity with the team, which is thought to be one of the team’s main advantages.

A requirement for application submission is possessing a UEFA Pro coaching license. Maxwell and Osei might not be taken into consideration if a coach applies for the position without this license, as they are immediately disqualified from consideration.
However, according to reports, both coaches and a large number of other coaches on the continent possess the CAF licence A, the greatest qualification needed to lead a national team in competition.
