Rapper and musician Zakari Seidu, better known by his stage name Zed Ay Kay, claims that up-and-coming artists should put in endless effort to be relevant because established artists do not owe them support.
He claims that a lot of upcoming musicians think that having A-list musicians on their tracks is their lucky ticket to stardom. Consequently, young musicians take offense when A-list celebrities decline their request to be featured because they perceive it as a sign of lack of support.
“As a young artiste, you need to work on yourself first and rather let your work attract that big artiste. I know about some young artistes who actually paid to have these A lists artistes on their songs but the songs were short-lived.
“I have been around for more than five years working on myself and even though things have been slow on my side, I know that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step so I will surely get there,” he stated.
Zed Ay Kay is now promoting “Mitsi,” his most recent hit. In the song, a man confides his deepest emotions to the love of his life.
Mitsi, which was released on December 8 of last year, was mixed and mastered by Andras Well and features M3NSA of FOKN Boys. For listeners, the loversong has a nice vibe added to it by both artists’ excellent rhyming styles.
Zed Ay Kay was previously a member of the musical group Replay, who in 2015 released their first album, “Senorita.”
Zed Ay Kay made his solo debut in 2021 with the release of his debut 14-track album, “Versatility.” Zed Ay Kay collaborated with Felix Owusu, a highlife performer, on “Stop My Love,” and Ras Kuuku on “Nah Give Up.”
