Yaa Ampofofowaa, the wife and lovely one of the former Assemblymen for Denkyira Obuasi jailed for the murder of Major Maxwell Mahama, says their children have dropped out of school.
However, she said that her husband, William Baah, was the main breadwinner of the entire family, so his incarceration has truncated the education of their three children.
In addition, Yaa Ampofowaa said they can barely make ends meet since her husband was arrested after the incident in May, the 29th day of the year 2017.
Precisely, and even more worryingly, the children always ask about their father’s whereabouts, and this is really a heartbreaking one. She can’t tell the children anything as such but just to say something to cover herself up from the children.
Meanwhile, she noted that there are pleadings with the government and his family to do something about the ruling.
At the moment, a single mother involved in hand-to-mouth operations, Yaa Ampofowaa, added that the money she makes is not enough to enroll the children in any school or whatever.
But without the intervention of her husband’s family, the distraught woman said life would have been unbearable for the children.
She noted that she was certain a reduced sentence for her husband would bring the family some reprieve.
Meanwhile, the former Assemblyman was noted to be part of 11 others serving life in prison for the murder of Major Mahama.
