Tony Cedras was an outstanding South African accordion, harmonium, keyboard and guitar player who suddenly passed away on January 2024 at the age of 72.

Tony Cedra’s wife Tania told TshisaLIVE that her husband passed away on Monday morning following a fight with chronic emphysema.
“He spent six months in the hospital while performing in the US before returning on Thursday. So on Monday, he passed away.

Under the guidance of Paul Abrahams, the bass player for Pacific Express, Cedras received his first break in the business. He was chosen to play keyboards and trumpet in the band. Although he has not yet been on a studio recording with Paul Simon, he was a member of every configuration of Simon’s band from 1987 until 2012.
