Mr. Dauda Fuseni, the first vice president of the Ghana Boxing Federation, says the essence of the special amateur bouts coming up in Accra is to select the youth national team and get them ready and strong for the 2024 youth world championship in Croatia later this year.
He vividly explained that after the special selection procedural process, the best and most exceptional boxers will be camped under the supervision of the coach, Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation, who is also known to be the coach for the youth national team, thus the Black Rockets.
This is to build them up during the camping trip to maintain both discipline and order. Adding many and other features to an individual preparing for the game ahead of them.
He also added that the GBF is planning to organize the best regular bilateral tournaments abroad for the young boxers to experience and test their confidence. This will build them up more and better and will help them perform in even bigger positions in representing the nation.
In the interim, he made a plea to people and businesses to help and fund the national youth squad.
