Eugenio Nasarre, a scholar and journalist for the online publication The Debate, passed away on Saturday at the age of 77. In 1982, Nasarre was the general director of RTVE. From 1996 to 1999, he was the general secretary of education in José María Aznar’s first government. From 2000 until 2016, he was a deputy from the Progressive Party in Congress.
