Chaos broke out in the Pru West constituency of the Bono East region during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries, resulting in one person being hurt and admitted to the hospital.

This came about following an assault on him during a meeting by some purported supporters of Alhaji Gariba Iddrisu, a parliamentary candidate.

According to Daniel Tachie of Adom News, the victim, Tijani, a deputy Nasara coordinator, was identified as the incident happened at around one in the morning.

Former District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Gariba is running against current MP and Deputy Roads Minister Stephen Jalulah.

According to reports, Tijani, a camp member of Mr. Jalulah, came under attack when he turned up at a meeting of Mr. Gariba’s followers to eavesdrop on them.

Telling the story of his ordeal, Tijani claimed he approached the group to find out what was going on, but he intended no harm.

But five or so of his fans ambushed and beat him unconscious. He is receiving care at the Abaase Health Center right now.
