Mallam Nura Suleiman, a 43-year-old Islamic instructor, has been detained by the Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly abusing a three-year-old student named Isah Muaazu in Suleja, Suleja Local Government Area.
However, according to a statement supported by Minna’s public relations officer, SC Nasir D. Abdullahi, the suspect was apprehended by the command’s staff during routine monitoring after they took action based on trustworthy intelligence.
The teacher was taken into custody on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Tsangaya Makaranta Mallam Umar, which is situated behind the Niger Motel in Suleja, Niger State. The victims were also saved, as per the statement.

In a statement endorsed by SC Nasir D. Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer in Minna, it was said that the suspect was captured by the command’s staff during normal monitoring after they acted upon reliable intelligence.
The statement reads, “On Friday, January 19, 2024, in Tsangaya Makaranta Mallam Umar, behind Niger Motel, Suleja, Niger State, the teacher was arrested, and the victims were rescued as well.”
“Isah Mu’azu, the molested child from Kawo, Kaduna State, was admitted to the General Hospital Suleja due to the severity of his injuries after being taken there for emergency care due to the extent of his injuries.”
Suleiman was caring for four additional rescued children when it was discovered that they had scars on their backs, which was more indication that the suspect had been abusing them.
Khalipha Abdullahi, Salihu Suleiman, Mohammed Mu’azu, and Ismaila Abdullahi are among the youngsters; they are all from Kawo, Kaduna State. The Niger State Child Rights Agency has been tasked with conducting additional research and maybe pursuing legal action against the suspect and the victims.
