Martin Middlebrook was an English military historian and author born in 1932 and suddenly passed away on January 2024 at the age of 91.

After reporting for national service in 1950, he was commissioned in the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) and served as a Motor Transport Officer in the Suez Canal Zone and Aqaba, Jordan. Middlebrook then served in the Territorial Army for three years.
