Former EuroLeague player for Maccabi Tel Aviv Lior Lubin has suddenly passed away at the age of 46 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Lior Lubin died from cancer on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the age of 46. He previously experienced a sudden change in his health several months ago. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the severity of the disease led doctors to express a low probability of recovery. In light of this prognosis, he was brought home from the hospital to spend his last days and was surrounded by his family.

Lior Lubin was born on September 19, 1977, in Ramat Gan, Israel. He was an Israeli professional basketball coach and a one-time national team player. He was born in Ramat Gan, Israel. In 2000, he was the Israeli Premier League Assists Leader. His last coaching position was for Hapoel Be’er Sheva of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.

Lior Lubin is survived by his wife and three children.
