Melika Mohammadi has lost her life. She died at the age of 23 on December 24, 2023. She was best known as an Iranian footballer who played as a right-back or a centre-back for the Iran women’s national team. She played for Bam Khatoon F.C. in the Iranian Women’s Football League.

Iran’s women’s football team defender Melika Mohammadi lost her life in a car crash on Saturday night at the entrance of Bam City on December 24, 2023. The accident happened at a time when the Bam Khatoon players were returning from their training ground.

Melika Mohammadi was born and raised in Shiraz on March 28, 2000. She was 23 years old at the time of her death. Two of her teammates, Behnaz Taherkhani and Zahra Khajavi, were injured and sent to the hospital.
Melika Mohammadi was capped for Iran at senior level during the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualification.
