Ole Paus’s father Ole Otto Paus was a Norwegian General, diplomat, and NATO official. He was head of the army group in the military intelligence service of the exiled Norwegian High Command in London during the Second World War and thus was one of the founders of the Norwegian Intelligence Service.
Ole Otto Paus was born and grew up in Vienna, Austria-Hungary as the son of the Norwegian Consul-General in Vienna, Thorleif von Paus, and a Viennese mother of Jewish descent, Gabrielle “Ella” Stein.
Ole Otto Paus got married to his wife Else Corneliussen and had two sons Peter Paus and Ole Paus. He died on April 6, 2003, in Oslo, Norway, at the age of 93.
Else Corneliussen was born in 1916 and died at the age of 35 in 1951. She was the grandmother to Marcus Paus, Sole Christian Paus, Madeleine Heide Paus, and Heide Katharina Paus.
