Austin Jackson was born on April 9, 1998, in Peoria, Arizona. He grew up in Peoria and attended Peoria High School, where he played football and basketball. He was a two-time all-state selection in football and was also named the state’s offensive lineman of the year as a senior.
Jackson committed to play college football at Arizona State University over offers from Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. He played in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2017, starting five games at left tackle. He was named to the Freshman All-Pac-12 team.
In 2018, Jackson started all 13 games at left tackle and was named first-team All-Pac-12. He was also named a Consensus All-American.
In 2019, Jackson started all 12 games at left tackle and was named second-team All-Pac-12.
Professional Career
Jackson was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the first round (18th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He signed his rookie contract with the Dolphins on July 29, 2020.
Jackson started 13 games at left tackle in his rookie season in 2020. He was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team.
In 2021, Jackson started 10 games at left tackle before suffering a season-ending ankle injury.
In 2022, Jackson started 11 games at right tackle before suffering another ankle injury. He was placed on injured reserve on November 29, 2022.
