Josh Hazlewood was born as the last born of Trevor Hazlewood and Anne Hazlewood’s parents. The couple are natives of the small country town of Bendemeer, New South Wales, situated 40 km north of Tamworth.

Anne Hazlewood is now a proud spectator at the Gabba watching her boy take five wickets on his Test debut, says her son has come a long way since he was signed as a 17-year-old boy by the NSW Blues.
Trevor Hazlewood added: “Josh was a real country boy and NSW would fly him down to the city before he was even old enough to drive. I was a bit sad initially, thinking how is the young fellow going to survive down there? But he got accustomed to things in Sydney pretty early and everything has worked out for the best.”
