Meet Tim Burchett’s parents Charles Burchett Sr. and Joyce Burchett
Tim Burchett’s parents are Charles Burchett Sr. and Joyce Burchett. Since his birth in 1964, Burchett has been a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee. Bearden Junior High, Bearden High, and West Hills Elementary School were the institutions he attended.
His father served in the Pacific Theater of World War II, including in the invasions of Okinawa and Palau. In 2008, his mother Joyce passed away, and in 2011, his father Charles Burchett Sr. Both were eighty years old.
Burchett remembers that when he was younger, his mother would give him half the money he needed to repair up an old car. He would sell the car after he was done with it. During the war, his mother gained airplane piloting experience.
In September 2010, Burchett took over as mayor of Knox County, replacing Mike Ragsdale, who resigned owing to term limits. In the Republican primary, Burchett defeated Tim Hutchison, a former Knox County sheriff, and in the general election, he defeated Ezra Maize, the Democratic contender.
