An NPP delegate in Kasoa, in the Central Region, has been arrested in the ongoing NPP presidential primaries.
The delegate whose name is unknown was arrested on Saturday morning during the voting exercise for defying electoral regulations.
He was arrested for allegedly taking pictures of his ballot paper — an act which goes against NPP’s electoral regulations.
The police who are overseeing the area took him in for questioning.
“Why should they handcuff him?? It’s his own decision to take a picture of his vote. He took money and needs to show evidence to the given of the money. Eii this election paaa pressure dey inside ruff,” an Instagram user said.
Another said: “So must he be put in handcuffs. Nonsense. Even Aunty Cece is walking free. I understand he flouted electoral rules but to be put in handcuffs is a No-No for me. He only took part of the National cake and has to show evidence.”
This is the second time someone has been arrested in the ongoing primaries.
An agent for Kennedy Gyapong was also arrested early today for the possession of tramadol.
