The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries in all the sixteen regions in Ghana are underway as the top two candidates cast their votes.
The ballot paper enrols four big names in the ruling party: Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong MP, former Agriculture Minister Owusu Afriyie Akoto and ex-MP Francis Addai-Nimoh.
However, Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong are the major focus. Bawumia has already been tipped by party faithful and commentators as the winner of the primaries.
Early Saturday morning (Nov. 4), Kennedy cast his ballot at the Pentecost Worship Centre in the Assin Central constituency where he currently represents the people as a member of parliament.
After casting his ballot, the controversial figure noted that his team had set up a collation centre where they would be tracking his votes to ensure free and fair elections.
Bawumia, on the other hand, cast his vote at the headquarters of the New Patriotic Party in Accra. He did that with his wife, Samira Bawumia.
He expressed his confidence in winning the primaries, adding that the elections “has been good so far.”
