Akosombo Dam Spillage: NDC donates relief items worth GH¢1.5 million to victims

National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer and former President John Dramani Mahama has donated some relief items worth GH¢1.5 million to the people affected by the flooding caused by the Akosombo dam spillage.

Some of the items include 2,000 bags of rice, 500 boxes of cooking oil, 50 boxes of tomato paste, 500 boxes of canned fish, and 1,000 packs of bottled water.

A grading was held at Sogakope, South Tongu where the relief items were presented to the chiefs and Members of Parliament (MPs) in the affected areas to distribute to the victims.

The former President John Dramani Mahama was accompanied by the National Chairman for NDC Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Mr. Kobby Mensah Woyome MP for South Tongu, Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah MP for Ho West, and Volta Caucus Chairman.

The people expressed their gratitude and the Paramount Chief of Sokpoe Traditional Area Togbega Kadzi Zogah II stood on behalf of the Tongu Chiefs and thanked John Mahama, the NDC, and all those who remembered them.
