Nigerian legendary actor John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu, is crying for help after his doctor told him he may lose one of his legs if he doesn’t fly abroad for better treatment.

The ‘Mr Ibu in London’ actor, 62, revealed in an Instagram post on Wednesday, October 18, that he needs emergency treatment else, he will lose his leg. He didn’t reveal the illness he was suffering from.

“I’ve been down for so many weeks. All I’m hoping for is your prayers and assistance. I’ve been in the hospital while speaking to you,” he said in a video posted to his Instagram.

“The medical doctor of this hospital said the best solution is, in case his new idea [medications administered] don’t work, the best idea is to cut off my leg.”

He concluded: “Look at me. If they cut off my leg, where will I go to and where do I go from here? Please, pray for me; talk to God almighty because I don’t want my leg to be cut off.”

His wife and daughter also added their voice.

“We want to appeal to Nigerians to come to Daddy’s rescue. For the past weeks, Daddy has been down and we took him to the hospital,” his daughter, who has been beside him since he was admitted, said.

She revealed: “Personally, I’ve been sorting out his bills, thinking I can possibly do it alone. We’ve been doing everything humanly possible so that he can get back on his feet.”

“The family has been doing everything possible but he’s not getting better. They want to refer us to another hospital because he’s not getting better. We are at one of the best private hospitals in Lagos.”

“We are appealing to individuals or organisations that can at least fly Daddy abroad to get him better treatment. This is not his first time,” she added.
