One of the original members of The Isley Brothers and an American singer-songwriter, Rudolph Bernard Isley was born on April 1, 1939, and he passed away on October 11, 2023.
Rudolph was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and he first sang in the church when he was very young. By the time he was a teenager, he was performing alongside Kelly, Ronnie, and Vernon as a member of The Isley Brothers.
After Vernon Isley passed away in 1957, the remaining three senior Isleys relocated to New York in search of a recording contract. They originally recorded for minor labels before signing a deal with RCA Records in 1959, when they created, recorded, and released “Shout,” their first important song. The Isley family had relocated from Cincinnati to a residence in Englewood, New Jersey by the summer of that year.
