American Basketball coach Joe B Hall has been engraved in realms of the NBA forever due to his amazing techniques on the court. From 1972 until 1985, Hall coached the Wildcats to 297 victories and their first title without Rupp.
Joe B. Hall also led the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team to three Final Fours and a national title in 1978 died Saturday morning. He was 93 years old.
Current Wildcats coach John Calipari revealed Hall’s death in a social media post Saturday morning. Hall and Calipari were good friends, and Hall was a regular at Kentucky practises and games. During timeouts, the retiring coach would occasionally offer the “Y” when cheerleaders spelt out the state name.
A minute of silence was observed in Rupp Arena before No. 18 Kentucky’s match against 22nd-ranked Tennessee on Saturday. Spectators cheered during a video tribute that included interviews with the coach before the words “Joe B. Hall Forever a Wildcat” faded to darkness.
