Alexander “Sasha” Farber, an Australian-American professional dancer, is most known for his roles as a pro and cast member of Dancing with the Stars. Although Farber was born in Belarus, a country in the Soviet Union, he moved to Australia in 1986. He first took up dancing when he was thirteen. Farber represented Australia at the World Latin Championships when he was 17 years old in addition to winning the Australian Youth Latin Championships thrice.
Farber started to make appearances as a cast member in season 14. But in season 17, when he joined forces with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of the Jersey Shore crew, he was elevated to professional dancer. Even though the judges gave the pair good reviews and praises, they were eliminated in week 7.
On March 8, 2016, Kim Fields and Farber were paired as professionals for season 22. On May 2, 2016, the couple was eliminated along with Von Miller and Witney Carson, who were tied for seventh place. For season 23, Terra Jolé from Little Women: LA collaborated with Farber, who made a comeback. Despite being tied for first place on the scoreboard and finishing in fifth place, Jolé and Farber were eliminated from the competition during week 10; this was Farber’s first appearance in the Semifinals.
