David Keith McCallum Jr., a former Scottish actor and musician, was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on September 19, 1933.
As an assistant stage manager, McCallum began working for the Glyndebourne Opera Company in 1951. He began providing boy voices for BBC Radio in 1947 and later got tiny parts in British films beginning in the late 1950s.
He made his acting debut in Whom the Gods Love, Die Young as a doomed prince. In 1956, the Rank Organization hired McCallum after viewing a picture of him with a James Dean theme.
