Vince Hill’s death did come as a shock to most who knew him. He died on 21 July 2023, at the age of 89. Vince Hill started a career in music at the age of 17, making his professional singing debut in Margate, Kent in a bar called The Prospect.
Hill was a well-respected English traditional pop music singer and songwriter. He was mostly known for recording the Rodgers and Hammerstein show tune Edelweiss.

According to reports gathered, Hill was not doing so well in terms of his health. He was said to have been diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2004, which after a successful surgery was well again.
A few years down the line, Vince Hill was said to have chronic myeloid leukemia. His sickness was successfully treated and brought under control.
