Dumont de Chassart started playing the game at a young age and has had a stellar career, winning the 2015 Kings Prize, the Grand Prix AFG, the Belgian International Amateur Championship and National Stroke Play Championship, Belgian National Juniors U18, International Junior of Belgium and European Mens Club Trophy in 2017. He won the 2018 Grand Prix AFG. In 2019, he was named the Belgian Male Amateur Golfer of the Year.
