English actor, theatre director, and playwright Francis Edward Paxton Whitehead was born on 17 October 1937 and passed away on 16 June 2023.
For his portrayal of Pellinore in the 1980 production of Camelot, he received Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations. He played several Broadway roles.
In addition to his numerous television guest appearances, he was well known for his film roles and for appearing in a number of popular US sitcoms from the 1990s, including Frasier, Caroline in the City, Ellen, 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Drew Carey Show, Mad About You, and Friends.
