Gretchen Esther Whitmer is an American lawyer and politician serving as the 49th governor of Michigan since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, she served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2001 to 2006 and in the Michigan Senate from 2006 to 2015.

In addition, Mallory earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in zoology from Michigan State University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan’s Dental School.
He maintains a dental practice in Lansing, which he opened in 1986. Dr. Mallory and his wife, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, have five children: sons Alex, Mason, and Winston, and daughters, Sherry and Sydney.
