Debra Anne Haaland, the 54th Secretary of the Interior of the United States, was born in the United States on December 2, 1960.
She was a Democrat who served as the New Mexico Democratic Party’s head from 2015 to 2017 and as the state’s first congressional district representative from 2019 to 2021. Haaland belongs to the Laguna Pueblo tribe and is a member of it.
