On September 4, 1964, Anthony David Weiner, a former American politician, was born. He represented New York’s 9th congressional district from 1999 until his resignation in 2011. Weiner was born in the Brooklyn neighbourhood of New York City as the middle child of Jewish parents, lawyer Mort Weiner and his wife Frances, a math teacher at a public high school.

He routinely received at least 60% of the vote in the district while running as a Democrat. Weiner resigned from Congress in June 2011 after it was learned that he had provided multiple women with sexually graphic photographs of himself.

Weiner started working for Charles Schumer in 1985 after earning his Bachelor of Arts in political science. Schumer was then a US Representative and is now a senator. He worked for Schumer’s Washington, D.C., office for three years before moving on to the Brooklyn district office in 1988. He had been coerced by Schumer to get active in local politics.

Weiner was given a 21-month prison term in 2017 after pleading guilty to giving a child obscene material. Additionally, he was required to maintain a sex offender registration. Weiner was freed in 2019 after starting to serve out his federal prison sentence in 2018.
