Family tragedy: Landlord allegedly butchers three with machete in Ashanti Region

A tragic incident occurred in Adankwame, located in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region involving a Landlord and his tenants.

According to the police a 35-year-old landlord, identified as Emmanuel, allegedly attacked his tenants( a family of three) with a machete, leaving one dead.

Mr.Obed Asamoah and his two kids went through this ordeal leaving young Samuel Amo (a one-and-a-half-year-old baby) dead. However his daughter Bridget Owusu, 19 also survived this attack yet sustained severe injuries.

The mother of the deceased, Janet Owusua, narrated the horrific incident to (OTEC News) reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng, saying that her husband had just returned from work with their son when the suspect confronted them, demanding that they leave the house.

Reports claim Mr. Asamoah was not allowed to speak and Emmanuel (landlord) attacked them with a machete, injuring both the child and his father.

Bridget, who was present at the scene, tried to rescue her brother but was also assaulted by the suspect in the process.

The three victims were rushed to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for emergency treatment, but sadly, Samuel did not survive.

After committing the crime, the suspect went into hiding but was later arrested by some residents of the area, following a confession to a local pastor. Emmanuel is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

The police have vowed to exhaust all efforts in bringing the perpetrator to justice and taking measures to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents in the future.
