Royal enthusiasts are commemorating King Charles’s coronation by getting inked with regally themed tattoos.
Tattoo artist Anna Townsend, who runs a fine line tiny tattoo business from a beauty studio in Romford, Essex, has already started tattooing clients with designs featuring crowns, King and Queen symbols, and even a Paddington bear to mark the historic occasion.
She has had a huge interest in the designs and is offering customers 20% off the royal tattoos to celebrate the historic day. “I’m sure King Charles would be amused, but it also gives people a chance to celebrate the kings and queens in their own lives,” said Anna. One of her first clients to request a royal tattoo was 59-year-old housewife Yazz, who got a bee wearing a crown on the back of her neck.
“With our new King being such an avid conservationist, it seems fitting, a beautiful bee wearing a royal crown,” Yazz told The Sun. Besides coronation-themed tattoos, other popular options at the moment include tattoos symbolizing motherhood and handwritten tattoos.
Anna’s tattoo studio, Quill & Ink, is at the Mirror Mirror beauty salon in Stapleford Tawney, Essex. She said the wrist, above the inner elbow crease, ankle, and ribcage are quite nice areas that people like to get tattooed.
