Charles William Harris (March 25, 1933 – April 27, 2023), best known as Wee Willie Harris, was an English rock and roll singer. Beginning in the 1950s, he was renowned as “Britain’s wild man of rock ‘n’ roll” for his exuberant stage acts and TV performances.

Harris, born in Bermondsey, quit working at a Peek Freans bakery in London to pursue a music career. He began performing with Tommy Steele, Adam Faith, Screaming Lord Sutch, and others at The 2i’s Coffee Bar in Soho, London, where he was the regular pianist.

The late English singer has concealed his family’s details from the lime. Hence, there is no information available concerning his parents. Their identities are equally not known to the limelight.

Meanwhile,  Harris was known for his energy, multicolored dyed hair (often green, orange, or pink), and clothes that included “larger-than-life stage jackets that looked like the coat hanger was still inside, tight drainpipe trousers, and a huge polka-dot bow tie” and became a popular performer on TV shows and in live performances.

According to another critic, “he gyrates like an exploding Catherine wheel, emitting growls, squeals, and what appears to be severe hiccupping.”  When he played in Liverpool in 1958, Paul McCartney and John Lennon reportedly waited in the queue for his autograph.

According to Harris, his manager, professional wrestler, and wrestling promoter Paul Lincoln, was inspired by American wrestler Gorgeous George to color his hair pink.
