Former South African professional sprinter Oscar Pistorius, also convicted of murder, went by the name Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius.
His feet were amputated at the age of 11 months due to a congenital condition in which both of his fibulae and the outside of both of his feet were removed. Oscar Pistorius was born on November 22, 1986, in Sandton, South Africa.
Oscar Pistorius attended Pretoria Boys High School and Constantia Kloof Primary School before matriculating at the University of Pretoria. There, he studied business management and sports science for his bachelor of commerce (B.Com.).
Both non-disabled sprint events and below-the-knee amputee sprint events were open to Oscar Pistorius. He was the tenth athlete to compete in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games at the same time.
After winning the Paralympic gold medal, he tried to compete in non-disabled international competitions, but the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) continually objected, saying that his prosthetic limbs gave him an unfair advantage.
At the 2011 World Championships in Athletics, Pistorius made history by becoming the first amputee to bring home a non-disabled world track medal. Pistorius became the first double-amputee to compete in the Summer Olympics in 2012.
On February 14, 2013, Pistorius fatally shot model and paralegal Reeva Steenkamp in his Pretoria home. He said that Steenkamp had been misidentified as a trespasser hiding in the bathroom.

He declined to sign a declaration attesting to his son’s assertion that he was the owner of some ammo allegedly discovered in Oscar’s residence during his murder trial. Where Henke is right now is unknown.
