Billy Waugh’s cause of death: How did Billy Waugh die?
The US former Army officer died a natural death on April 4, 2023, at the age of 93 years.
Meanwhile, Waugh, who was born on December 1, 1929, in Bastrop, Texas, was drawn to the military at a young age. When he was 15, he met two Marines and was encouraged to enlist right away. He decided to fly to California, believing that the minimum enlistment age was 16, but was stopped by a police officer in New Mexico and returned to Texas.
But, that failed attempt would only postpone an otherwise promising career by a few years.
Waugh joined the Army in 1948 and attended Airborne School before being dispatched to Korea with the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team in 1951. Waugh stated in his memoirs “Hunting the Jackal” published in 2004 that he “learned what made men tick, and what combat was all about.”
Waugh transferred to Special Forces after being sent to Germany.
