Chlöe asked her fans to decide which song would be the sequel to “Treat Me” when the time came to choose.
When a fan vote revealed that a different song was the favorite option, she declared in an Instagram video on June 14 that “When the Queen speaks, the Queen speaks,” adding that “That’s all I’m going to say and that’s all that matters to me.”
Finally, the Beyoncé-endorsed “Surprise” was made public, becoming Chlöe’s third straight top 20 smash on the American R&B Songs list (No. 20).
Chlöe has experience performing song covers. Naturally, it was her and her sister’s versions that got Beyoncé’s notice, but before “Have Mercy,” Chlöe gained notoriety for her noteworthy covers of Yung Bleu’s “You’re Mine’s Still,” among other songs.
Chlöe shared her opinion on Beyoncé’s “1+1” in August 2021. “1+1,” a promotional song from 4, Bey’s fourth straight No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, reached its highest position on the Hot 100 at position 57.
