Wayne Shorter was an American jazz saxophonist and composer who was active from 1958 to 2021.
He was a talented jazz saxophonist and composer who came to prominence in the late 1950s as a member of, and eventually primary composer for, Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers.
In the 1960s, he joined Miles Davis’s Second Great Quintet, and then co-founded the jazz fusion band Weather Report. He was born to his parenmts on August 25, 1933, in Newark, New Jersey, United States but sadly passed away on Thusday, March 2, 2023. He was 89 years old at the time of his death.
