Is Jerry Rivera Dominican?

Jerry is actually from Humacao, Puerto Rico, but he grew up in Levittown, near Toa Baja on the central northern coast of the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

His family relocated to Levittown in the community of Toa Baja, where he finished his elementary and secondary school. Edwin Rivera [es] and his younger sister Saned are also tropical recording artists, making up his complete family. Ito and Jose, two further brothers, both play instruments professionally.

His parents, who are also artists, gave him the inspiration to pursue music, and as a youngster, he frequently accompanied his father Edwin, a guitarist, and mother Dominga, a vocalist, as they performed.

When he was 14 years old in 1986, he went with his father to a hotel in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico, where he was giving a performance.

A hotel guest named Frankie Ruiz made an appearance, joined them for a few songs, and posed with Rivera for photos. Rivera used this image to create the album cover for his 1998-deceased idol Frankie Ruiz’s tribute song Canto a mi Idolo… Frankie Ruiz in 2003.
