On June 26, 1967, Jubril Adewale Tinubu, a prominent businessman and lawyer in Nigeria, was born.
He is now Oando PLC’s group chief executive. Before earning a West African School Certificate in 1983 from the Federal Government College in Odogbolu, Tinubu completed his primary education in the state of Lagos.
He studied law at the University of Liverpool and obtained a Master of Laws from the London School of Economics. He left for Nigeria at the age of 22 to complete his legal education at the Nigerian Law School. In 1990, he was called to the Nigerian bar.
Adewale Tinubu began his career in 1990 as an attorney with a focus on corporate and petroleum law assignments. In 1994, when Ocean & Oil Group was just an oil trading and transportation company, he helped with its strategic development.
His area of expertise at K. O. Tinubu & Co., the family law firm where Tinubu began his legal career, was corporate and petroleum law. In 1994, he contributed to founding the Nigerian oil company Ocean and Oil Ltd.

Adewale Tinubu and Bola Tinubu do have a relationship. Adewale Tinubu, an All Progressives Congress national leader and a former governor of Lagos State in Nigeria, is Chief Bola Tinubu’s nephew.
