YFN Lucci is an American rapper and composer. His well-known tunes include “Key to the Streets,” “Everyday We Lit,” and “I Wonder Why.” The EP Long Live Nut and the mixtapes Wish Me Well and Wish Me Well 2 make up his discography (2017). Rayshawn Lamar Bennett, better known as Lucci, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 16, 1991.
He grew up in the Summer Hill community. His older brother, rapper YFN Kay, is a rapper as well. Lucci attended Southside High School. He participated in college football. Lucci grew up listening to music by 2Pac, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, The Hot Boys, and his brother, among other artists.
In his late teens, he would eventually find his own musical style. After being included on Johny Cinco’s mixtape John Popi (2014), Lucci received early attention. He later signed with Think It’s A Game Entertainment (TIG), which also represents Rich Homie Quan and Trinidad James.
Wish Me Well, his first mixtape was made available on December 16, 2014. Rich Homie Quan and Skooly were featured on the songs “Just Way It Was” and “I Wonder Why,” respectively. In February 2016, the Wish Me Well mixtape’s second edition was made available. On the Billboard 200, it peaked at #183.
