Meet James Anthony Shields an American former professional baseball starting pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for the Tampa Bay Rays from 2006 through 2012, the Kansas City Royals in 2013 and 2014, the San Diego Padres in 2015 and 2016, and the Chicago White Sox from 2016 to 2018. He was an All-Star in 2011.

James Shields has two lovely kids with his wife Ryane Barber who he married in 2007 at a grand wedding in Kauai, Hawaii. The couple has two lovely daughters and James makes sure to spoil his kids silly. 

Though the names of his lovely daughters are unknown, they are one big family and they live together in Rancho Santa Fe, California.

According to sources, James and his wife Ryane are involved with The Heart Gallery and Eckerd Youth Alternatives, two initiatives benefiting children in foster care. In 2010, they donated a suite at Tropicana Field called “Big Game James Clubhouse” for the use of foster children attending games through the two initiatives.

They also hosted an annual “Heart Gallery Night at the Rays” during Shields’ tenure with the club.
