Sharon Stone’s mother Dorothy Marie Stone, 88, has experienced “another acute stroke,” according to Sharon Stone.
Sharon posted a picture of Dorothy on Instagram along with the caption: “Sharon shared the tragic news.” “Please pray for my mother, Dorothy Marie Stone, who has another severe stroke tonight. Thx.”
After having strokes herself, her mother, and her grandmother, Sharon is now an advocate for illnesses of the brain that age people more quickly and disproportionately impact women.
She discussed her own experience with the problem in an interview with Variety from the year 2019.
She said, “My mother suffered a stroke, that’s why I do it. “Grandma suffered a stroke. I suffered a severe stroke and a nine-day brain haemorrhage.”
She continued by saying that after having her own stroke, she had difficulty juggling her personal and professional obligations, as well as maintaining custody of her son.
“People treated me in a way that was brutally unkind,” she said. “From other women in my own business to the female judge who handled my custody case, I don’t think anyone grasps how dangerous a stroke is for women and what it takes to recover — it took me about seven years.”
She added: “I had to remortgage my house. I lost everything I had. I lost my place in the business. I was like the hottest movie star, you know? It was like Miss Princess Diana and I were so famous — and she died and I had a stroke. And we were forgotten.”
