Kojo Ansah Asare, Ghana’s most celebrated rapper, also known as Yaa Pono or Ponobiom, had a great influence on the country’s youth. He not only inspired them with his music, but also created a spark in their minds for socio-political activism.
Like every other day, Kojo was surprised to see the recent news about the earthquake in Turkey. He was sure that the politicians of his country would casually draw a connection between their country’s economy and the earthquake in Turkey.
He immediately started to think of a way to spread the word to his followers, discouraging them from such rumors. After the deliberation, he took to the social media platform to share his thoughts on the same. He wrote, “I Dey hope say the Turkey issue no go affect the Ghana economy like Ukraine”.
His post got thousands of likes and shares, and soon the news spread. His supporters were immensely proud of Kojo and thanked him for using his influence to spread awareness.
The politicians were soon left red-faced after their attempt to create a smokescreen failed miserably. For the average citizens, Kojo was nothing less than an angel, who showed them the real path to success and justice.
