Wednesday morning saw the seventh rescheduling of Henry Ruggs III’s preliminary hearing. Ruggs is accused of driving under the influence and causing a fatal accident that took the life of a young woman.
When it was revealed that the hearing would once again be set for sometime in October, Ruggs was expected to show up in court for the hearing on Wednesday. The hearing was held to ascertain whether the state had sufficient evidence to prosecute him.
In the wee hours of November 2, 2021, Ruggs, 23, is suspected of speeding his Corvette 156 mph and colliding with Tina Tintor’s vehicle, resulting in a fiery collision that killed the 23-year-old woman and her dog.
What is the status of Ruggs?
Ruggs is accused with driving under the influence that caused his death, his serious bodily harm, and two charges of careless driving that caused his death or serious bodily harm. Additionally, he was accused of misdemeanor possession of a handgun while intoxicated.
After the collision, Ruggs was let go by the Raiders. He has been under electronic surveillance and house arrest.
