Bobby “Blue” Bland is the son of I. J. Brooks, his father who abandoned the family not long after Robert’s birth. He is from the small town of Barretville, Tennessee, where he was born an raised.
He was born to his parents on January 27, 1930, but sadly passed away on June 23, 2013, in Germantown, Tennessee, United States, after what family members described as “an ongoing illness.” He was 83.
He was survived by his beautiful wife, Willie Martin Bland, and his son Rodd, who is also a musician
