Kathryn Hays (July 26, 1934 – March 25, 2022) was an American soap opera actress best remembered for her role as Kim Hughes on As the World Turns from 1972 to 2010.

Hays frequently made appearances on episodic TV at the beginning of her career. Hays said on such performances in an interview with the website We Love Soaps in 2010 “A career launch at the time was ideal. It was a time when female guest stars on primetime programs were nearly universally seen. The star runner would be a male. It would be a really rich part to play the major plot.”

Who is Kathryn Hays’ first husband Glenn Ford?

Sidney Steinberg was the first spouse of Hays. They had a daughter after their 1957 wedding. In 1969, after divorcing her first husband, Glenn Ford, she remarried.

Famous Canadian-American actor Glenn Ford specialized in playing regular men in unexpected situations. Actor Peter Ford was the child of Ford and Hay. In a 1950s short film called Have Faith in Our Children, Ford and Hay shared a single on-screen appearance.

Hays co-starred with Barry Sullivan, Andrew Prine, Kelly Corcoran, and Glenn Corbett in the NBC western series The Road West during the 1966–1967 television season as Elizabeth Reynolds Pride.

She portrayed Prine’s stepmother and Sullivan’s wife (though she was only three years his senior). Chance Reynolds, her brother, was portrayed by Corbett.

She played Gem, a silent alien with the ability to take on other people’s anguish and injuries and heal them, in the 1968 Star Trek episode “The Empath.” Additionally, Marcus Welby, MD, Bonanza, and Branded made appearances.
