One of the original seven cast members of the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, John Adam Belushi was an American comedian, actor, and musician who passed away on March 5, 1982.

While both Belushi and fellow SNL cast member Dan Aykroyd were working as comics at Chicago’s Second City comedy club, they grew close. They stayed close throughout their professional lives and worked on projects together.

In the early hours of March 5, Belushi had separate visits from his friends Robert De Niro, Robin Williams, and heroin supplier Cathy Smith.

During the filming of Continental Divide, Belushi was able to abstain from drug use for a short while, but he suffered a significant relapse while filming Neighbors.

On March 4, 1982, less than four months after the filming, Belushi paid a visit to the Los Angeles office of his longtime manager Bernie Brillstein and made a loan request. Due to his strong suspicion that Belushi wanted money for narcotics, Brillstein declined.

Where was John Belushi buried?

John Belushi was buried at Abel Hill Cemetery, Chilmark, Massachusetts, United States. Abel’s Hill Cemetery. Drive two miles east on S Rd starting from Chilmark. The little cemetery will be on your left.

Enter the unmarked door on the left. Once you do, immediately ahead, on the left, you will find a little area surrounded by a split rail fence and under some trees. There is the grave of Belushi.
