Edward R. Pressman was an American film producer and the founder of the production business Edward R. Pressman Film Corporation. He was born on April 11, 1943.
Pressman was born in New York City to a Jewish family[1], the son of Lynn and Jack Pressman, the “King of Marbles” who created the Pressman Toy Corporation.
In 1987, his own production firm, Edward R. Pressman Film Corporation, signed a three-movie deal with International Video Entertainment to handle theatrical and home video distribution rights, with a dual option to extend into a fourth.
The Edward R. Pressman Collection is housed at the Academy Film Archive. Over 250 objects are included in the film collection, which includes theatrical prints, printing elements, and videotapes linked to films created by Pressman or his production firm, as well as films bought by Pressman Films for reference reasons.
