Donny Edward Hathaway, dubbed a “soul legend” by Rolling Stone, was an American soul singer, keyboardist, songwriter, and arranger who lived from October 1, 1945, to January 13, 1979. His songs “The Ghetto,” “This Christmas,” “Someday We’ll All Be Free,” and “Little Ghetto Boy” is among the most well-known.
